Why Use Ar?

An anti-reflective (AR) coating on a watch is a thin layer applied to the crystal (usually sapphire) to reduce glare and reflections, allowing for much clearer dial visibility in bright light by letting more light pass through. This optical treatment works by causing light waves to interfere destructively, and while it vastly improves legibility, it's not scratch-proof and often leaves a tell-tale blue or green reflection.

Using AR has become a common practise with High End brands, some will use it on just the date Magnification or on the top surface of the Sapphire glass which will be prone to scratches and the quick deterioration of the coating. Our own Ar is coated on the inner glass surface which does not see any wear and ensures it remains scratch

free !

A word of warning ! Ensure watches with AR should never be cleaned in an Ultrasonic cleaner as the surface will be worn away quickly by the waves produced ultrasonically . This can be an expensive mistake !!
